New webpage for review

We are currently working on a new landing page, that will eventually show up at privact.org. So we want to move discourse a bit to the back (will end up at something like talk.privact.org). Discourse is not suited to get a first impression about what we do and want to achieve. The new landing page should serve that purpose.

You can find the suggestion for the new page here: test.privact.org - please let us know what you think.

Moin @ everyone.
As Björn mentioned in his previous post and some of you may have noticed, we have been working on our first landing page for the last few days and I can now announce it: It’s done, the work is finished and everything should be back to normal:
https://privact.org
It would be nice to get some feedback.

In order for our new landing page to be displayed under the link https://privact.org, it was necessary to move our forum. You can now find the forum at https://talk.privact.org.
So please adjust your browser’s link or use the ‘Forum’ button located at the top right of the new page.

This change required some DNS changes and new SSL certificates (technical background stuff ;-). However, it may happen that some browsers do not immediately recognise this, and instead of the forum page, the home page of privact.org is repeatedly displayed, or error messages are displayed.

In such cases, please try the following first

  1. reload the page using the normal refresh button, or in some browsers you can use the F5 key.
  2. delete any cookies in your browser that are set for either privact.org or talk.privact.org.
  3. clear your browser’s cache, i.e. all cookies and data that the browser has stored for websites that you have visited.

If this does not help, or if you are having problems with this, feel free to contact me and I will try to find and solve the problem with you.

Have a nice weekend
Frank

Valid at any time of day: A friendly “Moin”
As mentioned in the previous post, we have moved our forum to a new location (talk.privact.org).
As a result, the URLs in the various posts are currently broken.
We are working on this issue.

As a quick workaround for new users/visitors, we have manually changed the URL’s in the introduction post (home page without login, talk.privact.org) and the ‘…welcoming you!’ post (last link in the introduction post) so that the first important information is readable.

Regards
Frank
